9 Panel Hair Follicle Drug Test
Our 9 panel hair follicle drug test looks for nine classes of drugs that may have been consumed in the past 5 to 90 days, including benzodiazepines (like Xanax or Valium), street drugs like methamphetamines, cocaine, and heroin, and certain prescriptions. Our hair drug tests offer a much longer detection period than a urine test, which only looks back up to one week. If the person being tested does not have enough head hair, body hair can also be collected at select clinics.
For your convenience, we offer nationwide drug testing at more than 5,000 clinics. Registration is easy. Just enter your ZIP code during the registration process and choose the clinic that works best for you. After checkout, we promptly email you directions to the clinic in addition to a barcode for check-in when you arrive. Be sure to bring a photo ID. Results are fast, accurate, and reported securely online. Individuals and employers can register online or call (888) 378-2499 to order tests.

Frequently Asked Questions
When is a 9 Panel Hair Drug Test required?
When employers, courts, schools, families, or individuals are seeking a professional laboratory test with an extended look back period to identify street drug and prescription abuse of the specific drugs included in this test, they should order the 9 panel hair follicle drug test.
How do I schedule a hair follicle drug test?
You can register online or call us to schedule. You'll receive a registration code that can be used at the clinic that performs the hair test nearest to the city, state, or ZIP code you choose. If hair is shorter than an inch and a half, be sure to select the body hair option, which may limit clinic selection. The person being tested can then walk into the clinic with photo ID and simply show the registration code. You can change your chosen location at no charge.
When will I get my results?
Results for hair tests are typically available in 5 to 7 days. Non-negative results can take longer. All results are reviewed and signed by a Medical Review Officer. Once this is completed, the test results will be released.
Why get a 9 Panel Drug Screen using hair instead of urine?
The most common reason a hair follicle test would be ordered instead of a urine drug test is because the detection window goes back much further with a hair test. If you're looking to identify drug usage within only the last week, urine testing is the way to go.
If my hair is not long enough, can my body hair be tested for drugs?
In cases where the individual being tested does not have sufficient head hair for analysis, select clinics offer the option to collect body hair instead. It's important to note that not all clinics provide body hair collection services, so availability may vary.
How far back can drugs be detected when getting a 9 Panel Hair Follicle Drug Test?
The 9 Panel Hair Follicle Drug Test offered provides a detection window of approximately 90 days. This means that drugs used within the past three months can be identified through the analysis of hair follicles.
About Our 9 Panel Hair Follicle Drug Test
How a 9 Panel Hair Follicle Drug Test Works
To perform a hair test, our technicians will cut around 60 to 100 strands of hair. The head hair must be at least an inch and a half per strand in order to be analyzed. If the person's head hair is shorter than 1.5 inches long, we can use shorter hair from the head, chest, leg, or armpit (select the body hair option when registering). Many (but not all) of our clinics perform hair tests. Of the ones that do, only certain ones collect body hair. Choose the right clinic location based on your specific needs.
