The discovery was made following a traffic stop when the woman was stopped for a traffic violation. The 33-year-old woman did not have a valid driver's license. She was removed from the vehicle and prior to towing, a search of the vehicle was made. Officers found 25.3 ounces of cocaine hidden in her baby's diaper bag. She was traveling with her two daughters, ages 13 years and seven months. She faced charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, and endangering the welfare of a child.
In June of 2014, a West Coxsackie man was arrested on multiple drug charges after selling heroin to an undercover officer. The 47-year-old man was found in possession of over 300 bags of heroin. This man's arrest was part of a longer investigation into heroin trafficking.
