In February 2022, a drug bust in Turlock, CA led to the arrest of multiple people who were selling drugs across state lines. During the bust, authorities seized fentanyl, mushrooms, marijuana, and numerous firearms.
In December 2020, a months-long investigation in Turlock led to the arrest of 23 people and the seizure of drugs, guns, and money. The investigation began in March of the same year with a home invasion in unincorporated Turlock. Detectives identified a suspect and obtained a wiretap warrant for his phone and others involved. The wiretap gave authorities information about upcoming drug deals, drug houses, information about how the gang was operating, and how they were making money for the gang. Authorities executed search warrants at 17 locations. The most recent search warrant occurred in December 2020 and resulted in 23 arrests. Officers seized two pounds of methamphetamine, 786 marijuana plants, over 19 pounds of marijuana, 4.8 grams of cocaine, about 300 prescription pills, 18 guns, and over $19,000 cash.

In 2021, Dr. Bernardo Mora, the medical director at Stanislaus County Behavioral Health and Recovery Services, spoke about the opioid crisis in Turlock and Stanislaus County. He said that drug overdoses more than doubled since 2020. "It doesn't just affect, obviously, the one person who's died," he said. "It's their friends, their family, their loved ones or acquaintances, their co-workers, you know, all of those. So, it's a huge impact." Dr. Mora encourages residents with addiction to seek help because recovery is possible.
