Local Initiatives to Curb Substance Abuse in Tracy, CA

The San Joaquin County Public Health Services (PHS) department has recently launched a new initiative, called Fentanyl is Forever, aimed at reducing fentanyl-related drug overdose deaths in Tracy and the surrounding area. The program will blanket the area with information regarding the dangers of fentanyl using tactics such as ads on the sides of buses, social media posts, and radio commercials.

The San Joaquin County Opioid Safety Coalition also offers free Naloxone kits to anyone who requests it. The life-saving drug works almost immediately to reverse opioid overdoses and is non-addictive. Local residents can get Naloxone nose spray kits by visiting Public Health Services at 420 S. Wilson Way in Stockton Monday through Friday between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm.
