Notable Historical Events Related to Drug Use in Stillwater, OK
In March 2023, Stillwater Police conducted a traffic stop that led to the arrest of a woman for trafficking 20 pounds of methamphetamine. During the routine traffic stop, a K-9 alerted officers of an illegal narcotics odor coming from inside the car, and officers searched the vehicle. Stillwater Police found a semi-automatic pistol and about 20 pounds of methamphetamine. The woman was taken to Stillwater jail and faced charges of aggravated trafficking of methamphetamine and using a firearm while committing a felony.
In December 2022, six people were arrested on drug charges after a traffic stop in Stillwater. Stillwater Police pulled over an SUV for an equipment violation. There were seven people inside the vehicle and one person in the rear hatch area. Two of the six people arrested were charged with the possession of CDS with intent to distribute and traffic illegal drugs (Fentanyl). One person attempted to swallow multiple bags of pills. The officers administered Narcan, and he was transported to the hospital.

Government Efforts to Address Drug Problems in Stillwater, OK and Payne County
In March of 2023, opioid rescue kits became available to protect the residents of Stillwater and Payne County. The Payne County Sheriff's Office has eight rescue kits placed between the detention center, courthouse, and administration building. Rockford Brown, public information officer with the Payne County Sheriff's Office, said, "Minutes and seconds count when a person stops breathing." He mentioned the opioid rescue kits that they can mount on the wall. "Our jail staff has had to administer Narcan approximately off the top of my head two times in the last 6 months. One individual was not breathing at the time, and the Narcan was able to revive them." The kits contain two boxes of Narcan, each with two nasal spray doses, gloves, an instruction manual, and a rescue breathing mask.

The man who did my hair follicle test was great. I believe his name was Ryan. He was professional and likeable, and I was out of there quick. However, I have not received my results and it's been 17 days. I'm not sure why
