In January 2023, four people were arrested in Saratoga County after authorities executed two search warrants in Saratoga Springs and Wilton. The search warrants occurred after a lengthy investigation and led authorities to the seizure of multiple narcotics. Police officers seized fentanyl, cocaine, Xanax, crystal meth, scales, and packaging material. The individuals faced multiple possession and sales charges. One of the four was arraigned in Saratoga Springs City Court, and the others in the Town of Wilton Court.

Government Efforts to Address Drug Problems in Saratoga Springs, NY and Saratoga County
In January 2023, Saratoga County released a statement about the rising number of drug overdoses in the county. "The County has multiple efforts underway to raise awareness of the dangers of substance abuse, to provide preventative and treatment measures to residents, and to provide law enforcement the tools and resources needed to combat the growing influence of drugs and alcohol in Saratoga County."
The Saratoga County Department of Health (DOH) teamed up with the Clifton Park and Halfmoon Emergency Corps to distribute naloxone and provide training. Naloxone, also known by its brand name Narcan, is a life-saving medication that works by reversing the effects of opioid overdoses.
Saratoga Springs and county residents are also covered under the state's Good Samaritan Law which allows them to call for emergency help for overdoses without fearing arrest. The law protects residents against some possession charges.
