SBCYOR connected with the community and healthcare providers to work together on patient risk mitigation. SBCYOR formed a coalition with other community agencies, connecting patients to different behavioral counseling services. The coalition continues to reach out to the community through events, trainings, and service announcements.
San Bernardino man was charged with conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine
In June 2024, the U.S. Attorney revealed that twenty-two individuals from California were involved in a drug trafficking operation, trying to distribute substantial amounts of methamphetamine, cocaine, and fentanyl smuggled from Mexico into the United States.
Court documents reveal that Operation Toxic Waste has led to the seizure of over 12,900 pounds of methamphetamine, more than 50 pounds of fentanyl mixture, 39 pounds of cocaine, and 22 pounds of heroin. The investigation uncovered that the organization transported these drugs—both powder and pills—concealed in portable projectors and batteries, posing as a legitimate transportation business.
Additionally, they hid thousands of pounds of methamphetamine inside semi-trucks and hundreds of pounds of liquid methamphetamine in car gas tanks to cross the border. The Mexican-based ring also used GPS tracking devices to monitor the narcotics during smuggling operations. As part of this organization, a 42-year-old man from San Bernardino was charged with conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine. He was operating a stash house with over 500 pounds of methamphetamine for the drug trafficking ring.
