People were also often alone when they used drugs during the pandemic, leaving no one to help when overdoses occurred.

The availability of heroin and fentanyl also contributed to the growth of drug overdoses in Pueblo during this time. In 2020, Colorado experienced a 54 percent increase in the involvement of these drugs, and 68 percent of all fatal overdoses involved fentanyl. From 2019 to 2020, the number of deadly overdoses that involved fentanyl more than doubled.

Major drug bust in Pueblo, Colorado: Police arrested a man

Police were investigating a man and obtained a search warrant to enter his property. Authorities found and seized twelve guns, more than 63 grams of fentanyl, more than ten thousand dollars in cash, and over a hundred thousand stolen merchandise from retail stores. Police also found 17 pounds of marijuana. The man was arrested and charged with multiple crimes.
