Notable Historical Events Related to Drug Use in North Charleston, SC

In April 2021, an ongoing investigation in North Charleston led to the search and seizure of numerous drugs, firearms, and other illegal items associated with drug distribution. Authorities seized 887 grams of marijuana, 230 grams of cocaine, 3,187 grams of ecstasy, and five firearms.

In February 2022, 12 people were arrested and charged after the take-down of a North Charleston drug trafficking organization. Charges included the conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute and to distribute heroin, marijuana, methamphetamine, crack cocaine, and cocaine. Some of them faced firearm charges. All 12 individuals were North Charleston residents.

Government Efforts to Address Drug Problems in North Charleston, SC
