In January 2021, the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics (OBN) announced the arrest of a local Norman resident after agents seized a large number of illicit drugs from inside his home. According to reports, Norman drug supplier and suspect, became part of an investigation after law enforcement received complaints of heavy foot traffic coming in and out of his home.
OBN agents conducted a search of the home, where they confiscated 134 grams of cocaine, 561 grams of psychedelic mushrooms, 705 grams of cannabis, 1,278 prescription Adderall pills, and 4,262 counterfeit Xanax pills. The discovery of these counterfeit pills comes at a time when Oklahoma law enforcement have witnessed a significant increase in deadly fentanyl-laced pills throughout the central Oklahoma area.
State Initiatives to Help Curb Substance Abuse in Norman, OK
In June 2022, Attorney General John O'Connor announced a significant opioid settlement of $250 million for the state of Oklahoma. The settlement comes after a federal lawsuit was filed against three leading opioid distributors — McKesson, Cardinal, and AmerisourceBergen — for their role in creating and fielding a countrywide opioid epidemic.
This $250 million is part of a $680 million combined total of various opioid-related settlements the state of Oklahoma has acquired. State officials plan to distribute these funds across various cities and counties to enhance overall prevention efforts. According to settlement details, the state has guaranteed no less than 85% of the total amount recovered through these settlements will be redistributed into opioid abuse prevention efforts across the state.

We were told by Health Street that we could go in for testing 10am-3pm. Get to lab corp for testing and we were told that they don’t do testing 11:30am to 1:30 pm. Very frustrating as we arrived at 11:32 am. Other than that, the communication from Health Street has been excellent.
