In July 2021, a man from New Rochelle was sentenced to more than seven years in prison for distributing cocaine and leading a drug trafficking organization. The illegal organization operated from several buildings in New Rochelle, including a grocery store called SuperMercado Mexico. The former drug trafficking leader was also sentenced to four years of supervised release and forfeiture of Mercedes Benz and $150,000.
