In October 2023, an ongoing investigation by the Nacogdoches County Sheriff's Office led to the arrests of three people. The investigation was looking into illegal narcotics sales in Nacogdoches County. One individual was arrested at the University Drive and Southeast Stallings Drive intersection, and officers searched the vehicle. Inside the vehicle, they found over 7.3 ounces of methamphetamine, promethazine, THC oil, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia. They also found a large amount of cash in the man's pocket. Officers then obtained a search warrant at the man's home on Cleaver Street in Nacogdoches where they found more drugs and arrested the other two individuals. The three people faced multiple charges, including manufacturing and possession of a controlled substance.
