In September 2023, law enforcement officers executed two search warrants in Meridian that led to the arrest of two people and the seizure of multiple drugs, cash, vehicles, and guns. Officers from Lauderdale County, the East Mississippi Drug Task Force, the DEA, the Attorney General's Office, U.S. Marshals, Meridian Police Special Ops, and the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics conducted the search warrants that resulted in more than five pounds of marijuana and over six pounds of cocaine. Their investigation also led to the seizure of three vehicles, over $84,000 cash, and five firearms. Two people were arrested on multiple charges, including trafficking in a controlled substance.
