In August of 2019, Metro Nashville Police officials successfully conducted a drug bust that resulted in the seizure of thousands of counterfeit Oxycodone pills. Following an investigation involving Madison resident Kingsley Acheampong, police discovered that he was using the business Kings Crown Auto Repair to conduct illegal drug activity. Inside the business, police discovered 6,600 pills that featured the markings of Oxycodone but were actually fake, heroin-laced tablets.

It's suspected that these pills were responsible for numerous overdose deaths across the county. In addition to the counterfeit pills, police also discovered 2.5 pounds of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and stolen guns connected to local burglaries and pawn shop robberies. Acheampong was arrested and charged with numerous crimes, including drug possession for resale and gun possession by a convicted felon.

Local Initiatives to Curb Substance Abuse in Madison, TN
