Some common benzodiazepines include, Klonopin, Xanax, or Valium. Another growing concern in Lowell is fentanyl, an opioid responsible for a large percentage of drug overdose deaths in the area.

Fentanyl has become popular because of its availability through dealers or the dark web. However, the drug is much more potent than morphine and other opioids. Undetectable amounts of fentanyl are laced into other drugs, and people accidentally suffer overdoses without ever knowing they used it.
