Nationally, fentanyl has been responsible for a large percentage of drug overdose deaths. Although this is still a concern in Texas, methamphetamine remains the number one drug causing overdoses in the state. In 2005, methamphetamine was present in 21 percent of all substances identified by Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) labs. By 2019, methamphetamine was found in about 50 percent of all substances. Methamphetamine's high availability and low price have caused a significant increase in use.
Longview belongs to Gregg County, which is no exception to the high rates of methamphetamine abuse. Compared to the rest of Texas and the region, Gregg County has some of the highest incarceration rates for drugs and alcohol.
Longview police and FBI arrested ten people and seized $1 million worth of drugs
Authorities arrested ten people as a part of an ongoing investigation between the FBI and Longview Police Department. They seized over one million worth of drugs. Officials said they seized $50,000 in cash, 14 guns, four kilograms of powder cocaine, 204 grams of crack cocaine, 154 grams of methamphetamine, 2,000 ecstasy tablets, seven pints of promethazine with codeine, and fourteen guns. Police said they work day and night to keep the Longview community safe and pursue those who try to destroy it by selling substances.

Easy Ordering, Knowledgeable Service
Con complaint: I ordered two tests to be administered (hair follicle and urine). The hair follicle test was not administered to the individual that was to have both tests completed, however, the urine test was done. My complaint is that the test facility did not make sure both bar codes ordered (on the same day) for the same individual were presented so that both tests would be complied with. Now this individual has increased their clean time and will surely have shorter hair when test is ordered by the court to be done at a later date. Pros positive: the process of ordering was easy, information was available on products, and customer service reps were knowledgeable, answered all my questions, and courteous.
