In recent years, the Little Rock ATOD initiative has targeted various community components to reduce substance abuse concerns. In October 2021, Little Rock Police and the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) teamed up to combat violent drug-related crimes. Just weeks into the local investigation, both agencies were able to seize heavy amounts of drugs and weapons across the Little Rock area. Officials claim these large seizures could impact the local drug trade and help better identify violent criminals in the area.
The two law enforcement teams executed three separate search and seizure warrants in a single day, where officials discovered 100 grams of Fentanyl tablets, 47 pounds of methamphetamine, $50,000 in cash, and multiple firearms. A resident was charged and arrested on numerous drug trafficking charges related to these seizures for the first significant bust in this long-term Little Rock investigation.
