In February 2020, Lewisville police carried out a large drug bust, seizing about 600 pounds of drugs. According to Lewisville police, this was one of the largest drug busts in Lewisville. After police received a tip about a suspicious tractor-trailer on the highway, a Lewisville police officer and his K-9 investigated, discovering the drugs inside a compartment of a big rig truck. The drugs have an estimated street value of $1.2 million.

In April 2021, a traffic stop led Lewisville police to confiscate 23 pounds of marijuana. The vehicle was pulled over in Lewisville for failing to stay in its lane at various speeds. According to police, he didn't seem intoxicated, but the car smelled like marijuana. The passenger lied about his identity and ran from the police, but he was caught shortly after. The driver and passenger were arrested and charged with possessing marijuana over 5 pounds and manufacturing and delivering a controlled substance of 4 to 400 grams.
