Local Initiatives to Help Curb Substance Abuse in League City, TX
In Galveston County, when an individual faces non-violent criminal charges and is battling with drug or alcohol addiction, the county court system will offer the HOPE Drug Court Program as a way to better their lives and reduce future criminal and harmful actions. The program runs for 12 to 18 months and can be used to replace potential jail time if properly completed.
The HOPE Drug Court Program is broken down into three phases, beginning with Assessment and Orientation, then Treatment and Education, and finally Education and Transition. Over the course of these three phases, participants work to establish overall drug-free life goals and are provided the necessary resources to develop career skills and rebuild family and community connections. Such skills enable participants to better avoid ongoing criminal substance use concerns.
