In February 2022, an 18-year-old Layton resident was arrested after using junior high kids to sell drugs in the Layton area. The Layton Police Department learned of the young man after a 15-year-old reported an assault by him and others. During the assault, the 18-year-old pointed a gun at the victim's head. The young man was arrested and faced multiple charges, including aggravated robbery and drug distribution. A 13-year-old girl and a 17-year-old boy were also arrested and taken to juvenile detention.
