According to the 2021 County Attorney Office Highlights, methamphetamine poses the most significant threat of the illegal drugs in the community.

However, criminal organizations that used to focus on methamphetamine are now distributing multiple different illegal substances. Besides methamphetamine, some of the most lethal drugs in the area include opioids, heroin, and fentanyl. In 2021, the Dakota County Attorney's Office reported at least 65 overdose deaths, at least 38 of which tested positive for fentanyl.
