In January 2021, a man involved in a 2019 narcotics trafficking conspiracy pleaded guilty to one count of possession with intent to distribute cocaine. In 2019, he led authorities on a high-speed pursuit with 75 pounds of cocaine in his vehicle. The defendant was part of a group that stored large quantities of cocaine in stash houses in Baldwin Park and Covina before distributing them throughout Southern California. During the pursuit, Martinez drove dangerously, veering into oncoming traffic and eventually getting caught in Fullerton, where the drugs were discovered. Martinez confessed to having additional cocaine in a storage locker and a duffle bag. He faces a minimum of a 10 year sentence, and a maximum of life in prison.
