Kettering, Ohio: Local initiatives to curb substance use

The Ohio Department of Health, in collaboration with Harm Reduction Ohio, is providing Narcan for free to residents to counteract overdoses. This initiative is due to the presence of fentanyl in many illegal substances and the risk of overdose with prescription opiates. Narcan is a life-saving drug that can reverse fatal effects of opioid overdoses.

Recognizing the critical need for immediate overdose reversal, Narcan kits became readily accessible without a prescription at major pharmacies. Individuals can also directly contact Harm Reduction Ohio for Narcan resources. Additionally, businesses can acquire a NaloxBox for workplace readiness in overdose situations.

FOA (Families of Addicts) actively supports those affected by addiction through different initiatives.
