With the state of Pennsylvania experiencing one of highest opioid overdose rates in the United States, Governor Tom Wolf introduced the Centers of Excellence (COE) for Opioid Use Disorder (OUD) in 2016. Under this program, 45 locations, including hospitals, health care practices, and substance use disorder treatment providers, were selected to act as a location for residents to seek treatment and recovery resources.
