In March of 2019, the Grand Prairie Police Department was informed that large amounts of THC were being sold out of a Dallas home with connections to Grand Prairie. An investigation by the Grand Prairie Police, their K9 Max, and the Dallas Police Gang unit led to a narcotics and weapons bust where two people were arrested. Officers recovered a stolen handgun and an assault rifle. The two individuals arrested were charged with manufacturing and delivery of a controlled substance.
In 2018, a house across the street from a Grand Prairie elementary school was raided in a large FBI drug bust in North Texas. The investigation led to the arrest of 13 people linked to Mexican cartels. These individuals were charged with federal drug conspiracy charges after they conspired to distribute methamphetamine, heroin, and cocaine since 2014. Officers seized 380 grams of heroin, a shotgun, 5 kilograms of methamphetamine, and $25,000.
