Local Initiatives to Help Curb Substance Abuse in Effingham, IL
In 2022, the Effingham Police Department announced the launch of a new substance abuse initiative titled the Safe Passage Program. This program is designed to help local residents suffering from substance abuse concerns gain access to the right forms of treatment that can address their addiction issues and put them on the right track.
Through the Safe Passage Program, drug users can contact the Effingham Police Department and request assistance without the concern of legal repercussions. From here, the Effingham police will locate a rehab facility best suited for the individual.
