A Denver man has been convicted for his role in drug trafficking involving fentanyl and methamphetamine and for illegal firearms. The conviction came after law enforcement intercepted him in Kansas City, Missouri, while traveling on a bus from Los Angeles. Upon inspection, officers found illegal substances in his luggage and a loaded firearm on his person.
The items seized included over 3,200 counterfeit oxycodone pills containing fentanyl, 60 grams of methamphetamine, and a pistol. The 44-year-old man, who has a history of felony convictions related to drug trafficking and illegal firearm possession, faces a mandatory minimum of 10 years to a potential life sentence in federal prison without parole. His sentencing is scheduled for April 11, 2024.
