The 21-year-old Dayton resident was charged with drug trafficking and possession of methamphetamine and heroin, tampering with evidence, and resisting arrest.
In May of 2022, six search warrants were executed in four cities following a six-month-long investigation by the Tactical Crime Suppression Unit and the Warren County Drug Task Force. For six months, law enforcement gathered information about the distribution of marijuana and marijuana byproducts in southwest Ohio. The homes that were searched were in Dayton, Kettering, Miamisburg, and West Carrollton. The search led to the seizure of more than 70 pounds of marijuana, 8.000 THC cartridges for vaping devices, 4 guns, 10 pounds of hash oil, and $175,000 worth of illicit narcotics.
In 2016, Montgomery County initiated the Community Overdose Action Team (COAT), led by Dayton & Montgomery County Public Health and Montgomery County Alcohol, Drug Addiction & Mental Health Services (ADAMHS). Their goal was to decrease the number of overdose deaths in Dayton and Montgomery County, looking for gaps in existing services, enhancing these services, and finding more effective ways to combat drug overdoses. Initiating the program led to a decline in overdoses from 2017 to 2018 by almost half. The team still works to address the underlying problem of addiction, fight the cause of addiction, maintain recovery, and prevent future generations from drug and alcohol misuse.
