In July 2021, Passaic County Sheriff's Office's Bureau of Narcotics detectives witnessed an illegal drug transaction in Clifton that led them to a $15,000 heroin bust. After three people finished the sale, two of them got in a vehicle and were followed by detectives who made a traffic stop, and the two were arrested for possessing controlled, dangerous substances. The third person was later arrested after leaving his home in Paterson. Authorities found $691 in cash in his pocket and then searched his home, where they found another $194 cash and 1,490 glassines of suspected heroin. He was charged with numerous narcotics trafficking offenses.
