Three men were involved in one of the largest drug busts in Cuyahoga County's
In September 2024, federal prosecutors were preparing to charge two Cleveland-area men due to a significant drug bust involving approximately $9.5 million worth of fentanyl. During a pretrial conference, prosecutors informed U.S. District Judge Donald Nugent that they would seek a new indictment against the men following their May 14 arrests. Cleveland police officials have referred to the fentanyl seizure as one of the largest in Cuyahoga County's history. The authorities confiscated around 132 pounds of fentanyl pills during the arrests and searches related to their properties.
The two men were arrested and charged with distributing fentanyl and methamphetamine. Both men have pleaded not guilty to the charges and have remained in custody. Investigators raided multiple homes linked to the suspects. They uncovered fentanyl powder, blue M-30 pills designed to resemble oxycodone, as well as firearms and a pill press. A six-month investigation by federal agents and Cleveland police, which included informant purchases, revealed that the two men were involved in large-scale drug distribution. Both men have extensive criminal histories, with prior convictions for drug trafficking and federal offenses.
