In January 2023, the California Department of Health Care Services awarded $52 million to various healthcare providers to enhance opioid prevention and treatment initiatives. The Chino Hills resident, who was living in Virginia at the time of his arrest, faced conspiracy and drug distribution charges after investigators say he was responsible for trafficking more than 200 pounds of methamphetamine across the country.
According to investigative reports, the Chino Hills resident and an accomplice operated a cross-country trafficking business between January 2021 and April 2022. The suspect was discovered to be using sources in Chino Hills for the acquisition and trafficking of hundreds of pounds of methamphetamine from California to Virginia. In November 2022, the Chino Hills suspect was sentenced to 30 years in prison.
