Cambridge, Massachusetts - Drug abuse trends

Cambridge, Massachusetts, has struggled with a significant increase in drug overdose deaths in recent years. Compared to 2020, the state's drug overdose deaths increased by 8.8 percent in 2021. Although this is lower than the national average, Massachusetts is trending upward in drug overdose deaths. Experts believe that the COVID-19 pandemic and the higher availability of fentanyl on the streets have pushed these numbers higher.

In 2021, over 2,000 people died from an opioid-related overdose in Massachusetts, which was 185 more than in 2020. The presence of fentanyl has grown over the years; today, it is involved in more than 90 percent of fatal opioid overdoses. Drug dealers often spike other drugs with this opioid to increase their effects. However, even two milligrams of fentanyl can be fatal. People who use drugs often take fentanyl without realizing it, leading to fatal overdoses. In response to the opioid overdose crisis, naloxone, a drug that can reverse opioid overdoses, is becoming more available in Massachusetts as naloxone distribution programs begin to pop up across the state.

Efficient, Satisfying Service

The location is good, although there is some difficulty in parking nearby, the hygiene and social distancing protocols meet the demand very well, the service time was a little high, but very well compensated for by the great sympathy and attention given to me throughout my stay, in general the system for scheduling the exam, the collection and delivery of the result were extremely efficient, I was very satisfied!
