In March 2022, the Richmond County Sheriff's Office announced the arrests of multiple drug trafficking co-conspirators involved in a criminal organization titled Tyrone Guy's Drug Trafficking Organization. The numerous arrests came partly from a two-year undercover investigation.
Throughout the investigation, a total of 18 search warrants were executed across the Augusta and Richmond County area. During this time, law enforcement successfully seized 1.29 kilograms of cocaine, 3.65 ounces of methamphetamine, 5.33 ounces of MDMA, 8.11 ounces of marijuana, 43 oxycodone pills, nine firearms, $50,174 in cash, and seven vehicles. A total of 19 suspects were arrested at the time of the various raids, including leader Tyrone "Pit Stick" Guy.
