During three traffic stops, from late August through September of 2023, Linn County State Police seized a large quantity of drugs, including 92 pounds of cocaine, 80,000 fentanyl pills, and 14 pounds of fentanyl powder. Officers were suspicious of the behavior of occupants in the vehicles and conducted searches that led to these seizures and subsequent arrests. In one of the three searches, a K-9 officer discovered the odor of the narcotics, which resulted in the search warrant. Criminal charges were referred to the appropriate authorities.
